On Saturday, October 1st, the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Christian Sport Bike Association will be having it's October Monthly Ride - The "Dauphin County Run". We will be meeting at the Starlight Diner in Fogelsville for breakfast around 8am and the ride plans to depart at 9:15am, so please be ready. Late comers might get left, so don't be late!

The "Dauphin County Run" will start with kickstands up @ 9:15am, which enjoy mountain roads, near streams, creeks, rivers and winding sweeping roads through farmlands. It's surely another favorite among our riders. Our lunch stop is another favorites at Denny's Lennies in Halifax. Come out and enjoy the roads with us. Remember all our riders are required to wear their protective gear and select their riding group (see below for details).

All bikes and beliefs are welcome, please let us know if you or any friends are coming (it's ok to forward them invites). Please ensure however that you and any friends both read and comply with our ride policy, www.pacsba.org/join/ride-policy. Also please come to the diner with a FULL TANK OF GAS. We will not be making additional stops during the rides - just the scheduled stops approximately every 80-100 miles. There are two gas stations on either side of route 100 near the diner, so please fuel up before the ride. Thanks!

Lastly, please if you decide to join us for the day, we ask that you select a pace and group in which you desire to ride (below on pinned post) to start the day out with - you can always change your group later - it's just to help us assign you a rider leader and group to get the day started off right. Thanks again!

We hope you can make it... Lets Ride!

Calling all Recon Riders! It's time to start preparing for our next ride - Our October 1st CSBA Ride “Dauphin County Run" - I'm thinking of hitting this ride tomorrow to validate the routes, GPS, etc... The pace will be relaxed unless we heat it up - I'm planning to leave from Starlight Saturday (9/17) @ 9am. Hope you can roll out with me - Let's ride!

How did recon go. I saw your post too late to join in, but as fate would have it I became ill that day anyway. Not going to make it to the ride either. I think the August ride has ended up being my first and last ride of the season. 230 miles put on for the season so far. :side: Even had to cancel my Deals Gap trip this year.

Hi Chris - the recon went great! We had a fun day of riding and the weather was awesome. The roads looked good - the only issue, we have a ton of weather coming our way for this planned weekend. It's not looking good at all for us :(

Weather Map for Eastern PA

Weather Alert!:
I'm sure we're all watching it - Here's what the weather channel is reporting:

"...A prolonged period of unsettled weather appears to be setting up for the second half of this week, and likely into the weekend, across a large swath of the East.
A "cut-off" low, or an area of low pressure that is cut off from the main jet stream, will be meandering over the Ohio Valley, Northeast and mid-Atlantic states for the next several days. This sluggish system will bring persistent clouds, occasional rain and gusty winds to these regions from Wednesday through Sunday.
The most persistent rain looks likely to set up across Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, western and southern New York, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and southern New England.
A broad swath of 1 to 3 inches of rain is expected across these states through Sunday, with some areas seeing upwards of 3 to 5 inches (locally higher) in more-persistent areas of rain.."

Based on this new - we are most likely going to cancel our October 1st CSBA Ride “Dauphin County Run" Ride - Keep your eye on the event - if we do cancel, we will post it and also send out CSBA Txt Alerts.

Weather has not been cooperating this year for the rides. Ironically with my work schedule I was able to make 4 rides this year including this one which makes 3 out of the 4 rides I could have made being cancelled due to rain. So its probably my fault it rained most of those rides because I actually had off from work and could attend them.

Sure glad the weather was great for the August ride since that is my favorite. :cheer:
